San Diego is a vacation destination for many, and we are no stranger to drop ins. Summer months are a particularly popular time to drop in.
In order to provide the best services to our regular clients, we have found the need to enforce the following rules when considering drop ins.
Please don't take any of these rules personally. They have very little to do with quality of people dropping in and are focused more on making sure our regular members have the best experience possible.
If you have additional questions about Dropping In, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page and submit your question.
Dropping-in at San Diego Athletics
- Athlete has progressed beyond the intro or beginner course at their local affiliate and is currently participating in intermediate (or advanced) CrossFit classes.
- Complete understanding and proficiency in complicated barbell movements such as snatch, clean and jerk, overhead squat, thruster etc… There is no “strength” requirement, we are just looking to ensure you have knowledge of proper movement patterns for these exercises. If you would like to participate in our Muscular Development classes, you do not need any prior experience. Muscular Development classes are offered at all class times.
- Drop-in attendance is available at any of the “Fitness” classes. Check the Class Schedule for more info.
- Drop in rates are $20/session or $60/week unlimited. You may purchase a T-shirt for $25 in lieu of a single-session drop in
- Please make sure that you arrive 10 min early for your FIRST class with SDA so that we can take care of waiver liability release and payment prior to class
- Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays will generally consist of the following:
Group warm-up and mobility

Conditioning “met-con” of 5-20 minutes (depending on how much strength and skill work is inorporated that day)
